The FHSAA provides the means whereby alumni may continue the friendships developed while undergraduates at FHS, provide scholarships for FHS seniors and improve and service the Fairfield school community. The FHSAA operates exclusively for charitable, educational and goodwill purposes.
The FHS Alumni Association was formed in September 1985 when 19 former graduates and FHS staff members felt the time was right to enable former grads to reconnect, provide scholarships for FHS seniors and and assist the school. Their district and the community. Within a few years, the FHSAA hosted the annual All-Alumni Social (which continues today), a St. Patrick's Day celebration, fundraisers of all sorts, participation in the Fairfield Summer Days event as well as the Homecoming parades. Unfortunately, an influx of new volunteers fell off and the organization cut back on the number of activities. Their focus remained on the All-Alumni Social . the main fund raiser of the year.
In 2007, the Fairfield School District assisted in re energizing the FHSAA and some new volunteers joined some of the original members in adding some new excitement in serving the community. Today, the FHSAA continues to focus on the All-Alumni Social as its major function of the year. In 2022, over $14 million in scholarships were awarded to FHS seniors, an amount that certainly will be hard to beat in future years.
